Made in northern India by perhaps the last surviving maker of traditional Islamic paper, Mahomed Hussain Kagzi, this 90gsm handmade artists' paper is made by laying the pulp on a grass stem screen known as a chapri, which leaves an impression on the sheet as a laid pattern. The sheets are then dried on a plaster wall and surface sized with wheat starch, before pressing between zinc sheets and being burnished with agate stone to produce a smooth surface with a slight sheen. It is ideal for use in calligraphy, or for detailed brush and pen drawing. Available in either pure sunn hemp fibre, or a mixture of pure fibre and recycled sunn hemp.

Each sheet measures approximately 56x76cm. Sold per sheet.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to its size, this paper is only available via Click & Collect.
